Our church has an active women’s group.  We meet each month.  Our meetings range from regular meetings, to holiday parties or banquets,  retreats or trips.  During our regular meetings we discuss ideas that can better our church and our community.  We have a lot of fun and fellowship time during our meetings.  I believe God wants us to draw closer to one another, and our meetings help us in doing that. 

Our women’s ministries, along with other members of our church, do go to the Hazard Nursing Home to play Bingo, spend time and have fun with the elders.  Prizes are given away.  The women usually go to the nursing home about once a month.

Our women also sponsor the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home, the WWAM project in Africa, and our Covenant Sisters.  We report on this every quarter, in which for the last two years we have been an award winning church.  I am so proud of our ladies!

We had our first 2010 meeting on Tuesday, January 12.  There was a variety of food to eat, and we had a wonderful and relaxing time just fellowshipping with one another.  We did discuss our calendar for the upcoming year, and we have some exciting things we would like to do.  We are definitely going to try to go to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home again, plus we have the retreat and some more outings to consider.  

Our cookbooks are in the process of being published right now, so we are looking forward to selling those.  Our fundraisers are going to help renovate our kitchen and replacing our steeple.  A kitchen committee was established with Nancy, Missy, Donna Carol and Peggy volunteering for it, but any lady that wants to help may do so.  

The ladies will be cleaning the church for a fundraiser between May - July.  

We have 20 ladies attending the Fresh Encounter Retreat in March.  The retreat was awesome last year, and we are expecting the same this year.  There are always interesting things happening to us while we are on those trips.  Cant wait to see what happens this time....
