Teens
For several years it had been on our hearts to have a ministry for our teens during morning worship. There was children's church for up to age 12, but we felt like the kids needed another step before moving to the sanctuary with the adults. God answered our prayer. Last year our teens got their own ministry, and they call themselves 'Upper Room Ministries'. It is a very fitting name since they are located in the attic of our church, but more than that, a lot of our teens are spirit filled just like in the Bible when they were filled in the Upper Room. This ministry is for ages 13-18. Their leaders are Alan Mullins, Shirley Mullins, Michael Miller, Lane Gregory and Randy Smith. And let me tell you, this ministry is on fire for God!!
Besides being in church together on Sundays, our leaders are also keeping our teens active in other areas as well. They are planning a trip in November to Smokys. They are renting a cabin for the kids. They will attending Christus Gardens and Dixie Stampede.
We are so blessed at Maple Street to have a team of youth leaders that help in our activitie, as well as teach on Sunday and Wednesday. They are Lane Gregory, Becky Hounshell, Michael Miller, Alan Mullins, Shirley Mullins, Randy Smith and Stephanie Vergne.
If you are a teen or know a teen, we encourage you to become part of this wonderful ministry!!
